Veteran, Vintage, Classic and Modern Classic motor vehicles
The Eastern Province Veteran Car Club, based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, was founded in 1969. Our aim is to encourage the acquisition, use, restoration, preservation, maintenance and exhibition of Veteran, Vintage and Classic motor vehicles.
The EPVCC keeps statistical, historical and technical records of vehicles as well as an up to date membership register reflecting vehicles currently owned by members.
The Club organises and promotes competitions, trials and other events in which Veteran, Vintage and Classic motor vehicles can participate.
One of the highlights on our annual events calendar is the Milligan Trial Rally. This event is run in memory of the late Bill Milligan who was the founder of the vintage car movement in the Eastern Cape. The first trial was held in 1970 and is for cars built before 1 January 1970. The event is a Closed Odometer Timed Trial against a route schedule, which sets out speeds to be maintained and monitored at various checkpoints on the way. The winner will be the driver who achieves the least amount of penalties along the route, in other words, the driver who is closest to the pre-calculated times of arrival at the marshal points.
Informative and entertaining Newsletters are published on a bi-monthly basis. The newsletters also contain information on the Club's events.
Membership of The Eastern Province Veteran Car Club is open to all like-minded people who share our love of Veteran, Vintage, Classic, Customised as well as other vehicles or motorcycles of motoring interest.
The Club Committee meets once a month.
An Annual General Meeting is held in September / October.
The Club meets every Friday at 16h30 at their EPVCC Clubhouse.
